About
TechDog is a South Wales IT consultancy with a proven track record delivering end-to-end IT environments for businesses of all sizes — with a particular focus on the care sector, where we understand the operational pressures, compliance requirements and need for reliable, always-on technology.
We've built complete Microsoft 365 environments from scratch, designed multi-site network infrastructure, managed device estates across Windows, macOS and iOS, and supported organisations through complex migrations — all within regulated, security-conscious settings.
What makes us a little different: our founder Rob brings a background that spans IT, music and care. A classically trained pianist and jazz musician, sound technician, support worker and trained trauma therapist — we understand people as much as technology. At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief: technology should work for people and help them live simpler lives. That means we're genuinely useful to organisations in the arts, music and care sectors, as well as businesses and individuals generally.

The Human Behind The Dog
Rob & friend. Both equally opinionated about IT.
Hi, I'm Rob — the person behind TechDog. Based in South Wales, I'm an IT consultant and infrastructure engineer with a background that goes a fair bit beyond the server room.
Alongside IT, I'm a classically trained pianist, jazz musician and sound technician. I also work as a support worker and am trained in trauma therapy — which means I bring a genuine understanding of people, not just technology, to everything I do.
I started TechDog because I believe technology should make life simpler, not more complicated. Whether that's helping a care home get their devices under control, teaching someone how to get the most out of AI tools, or building a full Microsoft 365 environment from scratch — the goal is always the same: make it work for the people using it.
When I'm not sorting IT problems, you'll find me at a piano, on a stage, or being judged by a Bull Terrier. 🐾
